Jackson Conti
It’s clear that we’re Madlib fans, if for no other reason than his work ethic. Dude is prolific, to say the least; we could hire a part-timer just to keep up with his release schedule. But just when we think we have him figured out, he throws another curve ball at us. This time, it comes in the form of his new project, Jackson Conti, which is a collaboration between himself, and Ivan “Mamao” Conti, drummer for famed Brazilian group Azymuth (he’s also played with Gal Costa, Marcos Valle and other Brazilian greats). The album, Sujinho, is a gorgeous, sun-drenched modern take on Brazilian music, and has been in at least one of our iPods for the past couple of weeks.
