On October 9th, STOP SMILING hosted an after-party for DJ Shadow’s Chicago show. Shadow’s debut album, Endtroducing (Mo Wax), came out in 1996 and shattered all previous benchmarks for sample-based music, cementing his status as one of the most gifted producers and DJs of our time. Ten years (and many albums and side projects) later, he is touring for the release of his latest album, The Outsider (Universal). Making a rare public appearance, Shadow spent the night mingling and talking with the crowd and his fans, while music was provided by famed record collector Dante Carfagna, among others.
